Approved in first reading: Welfare Bill (adjustment grant for women who had to stay at a shelter)
Publicized: July 25, 2012 The Knesset approved the first reading of the Welfare Bill (adjustment grant for women who had to stay at a shelter)-2012 proposed by MK Dov Hanin and a group of MKs. The bill proposes that a woman that had to stay at least thirty days at a shelter, by referral or retrospective approval of the Welfare Office or the Ministry of Welfare, will be entitled upon leaving the shelter to an adjustment grant from the state in the sum of 8,000 NIS. Women that had children with them will be entitled to an additional 1000 NIS for each child.
