Knesset Committees on particular matters function in a similar manner to the permanent committees,
but are appointed for a limited period of time. Sometimes, after functioning for awhile,
they are turned into permanent committees. For example, at the beginning of the thirteenth Knesset
the Committee for the Advancement of Women was established as a committee on a particular
matter. In February 1996, it was turned into a permanent committee.
Currently Functioning Committees on Particular Matters:
Committee on Drug Abuse
Committee on the Rights of the Child
Committee on Foreign Workers
Public Petitions Committee
